I’m dead chuffed to hear that theWest Brom (building society, that is) is to build a new HQ and stay in the town.
This really is super news.
It’s good for the members of the society and its staff and it’s good for the council’s drive to regenerate West Bromwich town centre.
Remember, the centre’s already drawing in some £400 million-worth of development, mostly from the private sector.
We’re on track to get new shops, new leisure facilities and thousands of new jobs for the people of Sandwell there – and theWest Brom’s new HQ at the Providence Place site will add to the momentum that’s building up.
It’s all more proof that we’re going places.
Business are confident now about working with the council and they’re getting the message we’re open for business.
The society and the Baggies are the two big names that help put West Brom– and therefore Sandwell – on the map across the country.
It’s only right that they’re both here for the future and I’m delighted that’s the case.
